January 23 “Seventy Times Seven…” Matthew 18:21-22
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21-22)
FORGIVENESS is the KEY to a Growing and Productive Relationship with our Savior, JESUS CHRIST! HIS entire purpose for coming to Earth, taking on the form of a man, and suffering, bleeding and dying, was for our FORGIVENESS! Harboring ill will and hurt feelings and anger (that often turns even worse) towards another is NOT EDIFYING to the CAUSE OF CHRIST and HIS MESSAGE of FORGIVENESS! Amazingly, unforgiveness, in various forms, is the major issue among those that seek counseling over the past few years! “You don’t know what they did to me!” “They hurt me so bad, and I will never forgive them!” I really do understand the hurt, however I also understand God’s command to forgive, and His Commands override our human emotions! The facts are clear! You want to be a Faithful Servant of God and continue to Grow and Prosper and to be a Bright Light for Jesus in this ever-darkening world, then there is NO OPTION! YOU MUST FORGIVE! Stay Strong, Stay Focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
