January 26 The Best Years are NOW! Ecclesiastes 1:14
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.” (Ecclesiastes 1:14)
Many years ago, Annette’s Uncle Jesse, observing our “business,” and our constant state of activity, made a bold statement, and it comes back to my remembrance more and more, as I grow a bit older. He said, “These are the best days of your life! You will look back on them and you will smile!” When I first heard him say these words, I laughed! Now that I am “older,” I understand his words of wisdom. Time passes by so quickly! Our days are short, and God’s Word tells us this reality. Psalm 39:5 says, “Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah” Recognizing this fact, I don’t regret stacking the dishes and spending time with Kayla. I don’t regret opting to let the truck remain dirty for one more day and attending a Swim meet! The reality of Life is that “Our Days are Short, and We have a Limited Time on this Earth!” Each of us has a choice on how we will spend our limited time here! What will we focus on? I recognize Uncle Jesse’s words, however, as a Christian, I believe that my best days are right now! As long as I have breath in my body, I want to continue to serve Him and to share the Good News with everyone that I meet! THESE ARE THE BEST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE! FOCUS on the REAL and IMPORTANT aspects of Living and RECOGNIZE the REALITY of TIME! Don’t get caught up in “He Said-She said” issues or waste time on petty situations! Our Mission is set; Our Opportunities are Limited; Our Task is before us! Live, Love, Share, Forgive! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…. THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
